Hi Everyone,
Happy Fall! I hope everyone is enjoying the cooler weather. I know those training for the fall marathons especially appreciate it.
Here’s an update about some things that are happening around the club:
Monday, September 26 – Pacers is doing a shoe fitting and running clinic for us at the Old Town location. This is a FREE clinic for OTTC members, $10.00 for non-members.
Weekend of October 1-2:
A. Ironman 70.3 Pocono Mountains: Some of our members are participating in this event. Christian Schultz has been kind enough to offer to be an on-site lead here. If you are participating in this event and would like to meet with other OTTC members please email me your cell phone number and I will swap everyone’s phone/email info at the end of this week (also let me know if you are open to carpooling). Be on the lookout for Don and Mindy Soranno of Aerohammock – they are club members exhibiting at this event.
B. Giant Acorn International and Sprint: This is an OTTC supported event. We have rented an OTTC house and will be there all weekend long with the OTTC tent. There are still slots open for both events, relays too – come and join us!!!
a. If you would like to stay in the OTTC house we do have room for air mattresses – contact me if you’re interested.
b. RELAY – Don’t feel like doing a whole tri? Why don’t you come out and relay with some of your fellow OTTCers??!!! This is a fun, no-stress way to be a part of the action. If you are interested in being a part of a relay team please email and let me know which leg(s) you would be willing to do: Saturday – 1500m swim, 40k bike, 10k run Sunday – 750m swim, 20k bike, 5k run
c. If you are signed up for any of the weekend’s events please email me and let me know so we can be on the lookout for you.
OTTC Sponsorships: Our 2012 sponsorship packages are now available. If you know of anyone that might be interested in becoming an OTTC sponsor please pass on this info. One of our goals for 2012 is to be able to provide official OTTC 2012 technical shirts to all of our renewing members for FREE next year. Selling sponsorships is the only way we can make that happen so please spread the word!! Our sponsorship can also be tailored to a client’s needs – just ask!
Cancellation – BBQ after the Army 10 miler on October 9th. Sorry folks, Darryel recently found out that he has to travel for work on Sunday after the race and I’m not allowed near the grill. ;) We will plan another social outing before the end of the year.
If you have not already heard, the warehouse at 204 S Union Street has been sold. OTTC will be vacating at the end of this month – Velocity will be vacating at the end of the year. We are working with the City to find space at the Charles Houston Recreation Center for some of our clinics. If you or someone you know has space in Old Town and would be willing to let the club use it for various meetings and clinics please let me know. We only need space that can fit up to 20 people so don’t overlook a building that you might think is too small.
