We are still working on a completely new website for OTTC, it’s rollout has been delayed. In the mean time Darryel has been updating our current website with new information and training calendars. Please check out these areas of the OTTC website: EVENTS Coaching & Training Calendar We’ve also added the MeetUp calendar right onto the OTTC website so you will have a one stop shop for all things OTTC MeetUp
We have 18 people enrolled in our Beginner Tri Program with a goal race of the Kinetic Sprint Tri on May 13th. There is still time to join the program – it is free to OTTC members. Contact Darryel@OTTC.org if you’d like to join. You can also use the training calendar on our website if you’d like to train for your own goal race. In addition, we are hosting a variety of clinics through the Beginner Tri Program and you don’t need to be part of the program to attend. Any OTTC member can attend for free. Check out the schedule here.

On April 27-28, 2012, OTTC members Mindy & Don Soranno,
Leigh Ann & Christian Schultz, Steve Coren and Sue Himes will be running
the American Odyssey 200 mile relay race from Gettysburg to DC. Each team
within 50 miles of the relay is required to supply AT LEAST 3 volunteers for
the relay. Volunteering is easy - an average shift is about 4-5 hours long and
you can request a location if it's not already taken. Volunteering could
include directing traffic (telling runners and/or vans where to go), keeping
track of when a relay runner passes thru your area by noting the time on a
master list, cheering runners on, and/or picking up trash and removing signage
after the last team passes through. Volunteers will always have others around
them, especially for those late night times. About that...this is a race
that runs around the clock, therefore volunteers are needed around the clock,
including midnight, 2am, 4am, 6am, etc… If you are up for the fantastic
experience of being a volunteer, please contact Leigh Ann Schultz at
214-674-9799 or leighannschultz@hotmail.com as soon as possible. See http://www.americanodysseyrelay.com/volunteers.html for more information.
The Half Ironman has been announced at National Harbor for August 5th. The registration date should be announced shortly. To keep apprised of all the happenings check out their Facebook page.
Come on out and celebrate George’s birthday by running the GW Birthday Classic 10k race right here in Alexandria and sponsored by our good friends at Pacers Running Stores. Please RSVP on our MeetUp site if you will be attending.
Thank you to Melissa McGlone from Vital for speaking to our Eagleman group about the benefits of a healthy diet. Melissa gave an overview of how eating natural organic raw foods can change your life. We spoke about how healthy eating can improve performance and detoxify your body. Peak performance comes from optimal health. We enjoyed the handouts and the green smoothie afterwards. Melissa will teach another clinic for our members soon so check our calendar for more details. She plans to have a colleague join us to demonstrate the benefits sports massage at our next clinic.
If you haven’t renewed your membership go to HERE and sign up. We have a lot in store for the upcoming season.
